People have different opinions about the internet. I agree that the internet has benefited our day-to-day communication.
Over the years of using the internet, it has proven to be an incredible source of a variety of things. People generally use the internet for purposes of communication while others may use it for learning. People have managed to use the internet, specifically social media to communicate with those they know, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. As some of us are international students who are pursuing our study overseas, connecting virtually with friends and families back home has become an important daily routine. However, although this is a good example of why the internet is seen as a huge positive, it has been proven that people tend to post “facts” or other misleading articles that are unreliable, giving false information.
Especially for students who are trying to do research for school or work, it is always important to check multiple sources in case the first source researched is inaccurate. Anyone on the internet can post an article of their choice, and while it is great for those to share whatever information they desire, this leads to many sources online being incorrect, whether it is intentional or not. This is the internet, not everyone has good intentions of teaching others facts that they know. Some may post fake information just because they can. There are also sometimes those who post incorrect facts but show it was an honest mistake.
Overall, many individuals, including myself, enjoy using the internet for these reasons. Although it is not perfect, which is expected, there are more benefits that come out of an amazing invention like this.
